Fav weekend pins!

I find Pinterest sooooo calming ( you can find me here ) I could pin for hours. It takes my mind off whatever is going on around me...and lets me pretend I'm either filthy stinking rich or on an island some place...Maybe my own island?!

BUT, I feel like I have came across some really cute stuff this past week on Pinterest and at our GCN (Girls Craft Night) we made a super cute craft we found on Pinterest

1. This is the original photo from Pinterest. It actually has NO link tho ( don't you hate that?!) Anyways. We bought our letters from Micheal's for $10.00 total. Already had Chevron painters tape made by Frog found at Lowes. Then we just painted it with basic craft paint. And distressed with Martha Stewart stain also found at Micheal's.

Mail Pouch

If your offended by dead animals this post is not for you. 

Hubs needed a man area now that the basement is done and Moms settled! He desperately wanted to recreate the famous mail pouch tobacco barn sign. 

And who am I to tell him no? He works so hard for us and our home. Not to mention he's a pretty good decorator and damned good painter. 

Ok, wall was a tan color. This was the former office. Now painted in valspar from lowes. It was really important to him stick with the national historic preservation colors. I need to double check but I think this is our color. 

Next he added a big black square! If I taped this it most likely would be a octagon or something horrific! 

Ok now time to start stenciling!! Ps- I didn't do anything but clean.

His idea this whole time has been to cover the actual wall with his deer heads. 

We love the way it turned out!

Weekend Recap!

BUSY BUSY BUSY! (Isn't this new new blog amazing?!) I seriously LOVE IT! Thanks again Leslie!

Lets see I think we have been to Home Depot or Lowes between Hubs and myself 6-7 since Friday. BUT I can safely say the basement is almost done. As in needs a few minor things completed. (Grout in the tile sealed, touch up paint, finish up the oven connection) ugh and finish the stairs! I stained them all today. They will need 1 more coat of stain and we are painting the risers. This is a trial for our upstairs steps! I would love to paint our risers as well!

So pretty much I never left the basement BUT to go to Lowes or Home Depot. Good times!

I think tomorrow I'm going to do a DIY post on Chalk Board paint.
